I finally did it, the BIG CHOP!!! After about 5 months, I couldn't take it anymore. The 2 textures was getting on my nerves!!!! I have about 3 inches in the back and about 1 1/2 in. in the top, and about 3 in. in the front. I'm excited! I've been playing around with it alot,(it's only been a couple days, lol), to get a feel for it. Now a lot of people are using Andre Walker's sytem, but, I think I'll stick with Mizani's curl pattern sytem. It has a wider range of curl types. I believe that I'm a type VI and VII, loose to tightly coiled textured hair. Check it out and ee what type you are! Join in the discussion and let me know what type you are. I'd love to know!

I'm still going strong with this natural hair journey!!! I'm coming up on my 5th monthof transitioning.I can't believe I've made it thisfar, but I have! And I will continue to keep on keepin' on. I've been continuing to let my hair rest for a while, wearing wigs and ponytails. Right now I'm wearing a quickweave I made from the marley braid hair. I'll post pics later. I've also done a sew-in on my older daughter, who doesn't really want to go natural, lol. But as I was doing her hair today, her hair is not as thick as we always thought it was. She calls it nappy, but its actually looking more on the wavy side, and she's going on 2 months w/out a relaxer touch-up. I'll post her pics later, too. Anyway, my 12 yr old and their friend, who's also in the transitioning journey album is still going throught with it too. I think its been about 3 months for her now. My main goal is to teach them all about haircare and how to work with their mane texture.

I went to the health food stores and bought some great products and used some that I had in my kitchen. I made a conditioning moisturizer using shea butter and coconut oil, among other things, lol. It made my hair so soft, even after it dried. And it's stillsoft after a few days, too! I'd love to send you a free sample. Join the site by November 5th and I'll send you a sample of my amazing conditioning moisturizer.

Hey you guys! I'm under the dryer right now. I just got finished shampooing my hair with a natural shampoo that I made myself. It did pretty good, I'm going to keep making different variations of it.Then I made a conditioner as well, but it still needs work. Don't worry when I get it right, you'll be the first to know, lol. Anyway, then I used some pure coconut oil and shae butter for moisture. It made my hair really soft! Then I did some flat twists in the front, and two-strand twists down the bak, which I will take out when it's dry. I'llpost the pics in the photo gallery later on.

Well, I'm off today.Yes I work in a "chain" salon, lol. Well, anyway, I just wanted to give an update on my natural hair journey. I'm still wearing the corn-row style, but I may take it out today or tomorrow beause it's itching and getting a little loose in the back. I usually tie it down at night and apply gel in the morning to smooth it down. I haven't really worn corn-rows, so I'm not use to them. I'm going to look for some natural products today to work on someof my own products for natural hair. I'll be sure to keep you all posted!

Hi everyone! I'm wearing a cornrow style right now. But I just wanted to give an update on my daughter Lennia, who's also going natural. She's 5 months into her natural hair journey. I did a twist out style on her last night. I'll post some of the pics shortly. I dont know what style I'm gonna try next... probably a twist out, because my hair is a little shorter than my daughters is.
